Young Thug is riding with Lil Nas X.
Just a day after “Old Town Road” topped the Billboard Hot 100, Thugger has teased his own remix to the genre-bending hit. Taking to Instagram, he posted a clip of his mix and tagged Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus.
“Worked on this song a while for this kid,” tweeted Thug.

Lil Nas X, who is celebrating his 20th birthday today, also posted an image of his signature cowboy emoji next to Thug’s snake emoji, fueling rumors of a collaboration. He followed it up with a photo of them together. “WITH THE MF GOAT!” he tweeted.

In a recent interview with TIME, X credited Thugger for starting the “country trap” movement. “I believe whenever you’re trying something new, it’s always going to get some kind of bad reception,” he said. “For example, when rap started, or when rock and roll began. But with country trap, I in no way want to take credit for that. I believe Young Thug would be one of the biggest pioneers in that.”
Last week, Lil Nas X dropped the Billy Ray Cyrus remix to “Old Town Road,” which rises from No. 15 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
