Soulja Boy is grateful to be alive after he was involved in a car accident caused by mudslides and flash flooding in Southern California on Saturday night (Jan. 5).
“Was involved in a very bad car accident last night due to a flash flood and mud slide,” the “Crank That” rapper wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
He retweeted a photo of the mudslides in Malibu, adding, “My car got stuck too almost went into the ocean.”
Taking to Instagram Stories, Soulja showed his soiled shoes from the aftermath of the accident. “Just thankful to be alive. My face all swollen and sh*t,” he said.

He went on to retweet concerned fans. “Thank God you’re ok,” wrote one, while another added, “Dude we almost lost you man.”
Heavy rainfall caused mudslides and flash flooding across Southern California, which affected the burn areas from last fall’s devastating Woolsey Fire. Flash flood warnings were issued across Los Angeles and Ventura counties and a large part of the Pacific Coast Highway was shut down due to flooding.
Despite the scary incident, the 28-year-old rapper was thankful to be safe. “Thank God for another day, with new opportunities & blessings,” he tweeted.
