Kodak Black confronts his demons in the dark and chilling video for “Close to the Grave.”
Dressed in a black puffer jacket, Lil Kodak walks the streets at night with a shovel in hand while grappling with life and death. He eventually stops at a pile of dirt and starts digging a grave before pouring out liquor.
“You know death right around the corner and prison my next-door neighbor,” he raps. “Feel like I’m dyin’ to live / I know we live to die, but I feel like I’m dyin’ to live.”
“Close to the Grave” appears on Kodak’s new album Dying to Live, which features Travis Scott, Offset, Juice WRLD, and Lil Pump. The album, which Drake called one of his “favorites in the last five years,” is expected to expected to debut with 60-70,000 equivalent album units.
