To celebrate the release of her 15th studio album Caution, Mariah Carey made a triumphant return to “The Tonight Show” on Friday (Nov. 16) for a performance and interview.
During her sit-down with Fallon, the Queen of Christmas revealed the appropriate time to starting listening to Christmas music. “I have this rule where I try to get through Thanksgiving,” said MC. “I don’t like when people rush it because once I start, I don’t stop.”
“The Voice” adviser also spoke about the Glitter soundtrack topping the iTunes Albums chart 17 years after its release, and the #JusticeForGlitter campaign. “Whoever thought that it was gonna get to No. 1, and now it’s like all these years later…but it is a good album,” she said, while crediting her “Lambily.” “The fans made it happen. I had nothing to do with it. It’s a movement. It’s much bigger than me.”
Mariah also revealed what her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, call her explicit single “GTFO”—”Get a Fun Cow”—while Jimmy shared some funny memes that used the catchphrase.
Plus, she hit the stage with Ty Dolla $ign to perform “The Distance” off Caution. Following an intro from step dancers, a radiant Mimi emerged in a sparkly pink off-the-shoulder dress. As caution tape lights flashed behind her, she hit all the right notes while belting out the Skrillex production with some help from Ty.
