Lil Wayne Performs with Halsey, Swizz Beatz on ‘SNL’

Posted by Unknown on 10:33 PM

Live from New York, it’s Lil Wayne.

Eight years since his last visit, the Young Money rapper returned to “SNL” for his third appearance as musical guest. Weezy took over Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center to perform two songs off his chart-topping album Tha Carter V.

For his first performance of the night, he performed “Can’t Be Broken,” with a surprise appearance from Halsey, who sang the hook. At the end, Wayne thanked the men and women of the military in honor of Veteran’s Day. “To all the veterans, thank you,” he said.

During his second set, Tunechi delivered his hit single “Uproar,” with some help from the song’s producer Swizz Beatz. Rocking a spotted fur coat, Weezy lit up the stage with a group of dancers while performing the rousing track, which inspired the viral #UproarChallenge.

In addition to serving as musical guest, Wayne and Future appeared in a booty-filled music video parody called “Permission” starring the Booty Kings (Chris Redd and Kenan Thompson) and Uncle Butt (Pete Davidson). Wayne and Future rapped about their love for women and consent. “Booty talk, booty talk / Emotional connection,” raps Wayne. “Before we get emotional, I’m putting on protection / Respect is the game and booty is the scrimmage / And I play good defense if that booty get offended.”

Prior to the show, Weezy released three bonus tracks off Tha Carter V, including “Hasta La Vista,” “In This House” with Gucci Mane, and a remix to “What About Me” with Post Malone.
