Judge Genece Brinkley was called out by her own lawyer, Charles Peruto, for looking “fucking awful” with the way she’s been dealing with Meek Mill’s legal case. An audio clip of his comments surfaced earlier this year after he agreed to participate in an upcoming documentary produced by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation which follows Meek’s issues with the law. Peruto went on to say that the comments were made “off the record” and proceeded to sue Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and Amazon. Now, Jay-Z is clapping back at Peruto, claiming he’s simply trying to disclose his statements.
According to The Blast, Jay-Z filed documents against Charles Peruto claiming Judge Genece Brinkley’s lawyer is attempting to stop further reporting of his comments towards Meek’s judge.
“This lawsuit is an effort to prevent the disclosure of statements [Peruto] made criticizing his client, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, over her handling of criminal proceedings involving Robert Rihmeek William (professionally known as Meek Mill), and to squelch further reporting about his critical comments regarding his client.” Jay-Z said in legal documents.
Hov adds, “[Peruto] neither asked to go off the record nor instructed the interviewer to stop recording.”
Peruto said the reporter of asking him to speak “off record.” However, he claims the camera continued to roll as he criticized Judge Genece Brinkley for keeping Meek behind bars.
