Iggy Azalea is going independent.
After splitting with Island Records, the Aussie rapper has inked a $2.7 million deal with an undisclosed partner, which will give her full ownership of her masters and the ability to sign other artists.
“Proud to say I literally just signed my new deal/partnership!” Iggy told her Twitter followers. “2.7mil, can sign others, own my masters + 100% independent – I’m feeling like such a bossy grown ass bitch today! Time to get back to ME. I’m so grateful & excited…”

While the ink dries on her new contract, Iggy was thrilled to share the news with her fans. “I’m just so happy & excited; I wanted to tell you guys as soon as the pen hit the paper!” she added.
The 28-year-old rapper was originally signed to Def Jam in the U.S., where she released her 2014 debut The New Classic, which spawned the chart-topping hit “Fancy.” In August, she released her six-track EP Survive the Summer via Island Records.
