Tyler, the Creator’s car was totaled following an accident on Thursday morning (Oct. 25).
The incident occurred on Sunset Blvd. near the UCLA campus. Tyler was driving his white Tesla Model X when it crashed into a parked Honda CR-V around 12:30 a.m., sending the car flying 50 feet into the street. LAPD and LA Fire responded, but no injuries were reported.
Tyler’s Tesla appeared to be totaled with the front side smashed in and the airbags deployed. The CR-V also suffered major damage.
According to The Blast, Tyler waited for police to arrive, but walked away when cameras noticed him. The rapper was not arrested, and a police report was left on the victim’s car identifying Tyler as the owner of the Tesla.
According to the owner, this was the second time his car has been involved in an accident, but he was hopeful to receive a payout. “I was like, damn, at first. But find out Tyler, the Creator did it. Probably gonna get a decent check,” he said before adding, “It sucks though, for sure.”
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Tyler, who will host his seventh annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival on Nov. 10-11, has not commented on the accident.
