After praising Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff at the Golden Globes, Donald Glover introduces the world to his new Migos-inspired group, the Friendos. During his “Saturday Night Live” gig, Gambino tapped actors Chris Redd and Kenan Thompson for a music video/sketch about therapy.
Also featuring actress Cecily Strong, the clip includes nightclub scenes, fancy cars (“Lambo!”), and everything one might expect from a big budget rap video. However, it also features an emotional therapy session. After walking out, the guys encounter a familiar face in A$AP Rocky.
In between those sentimental moments, the guys also perform a track about therapy. Over trap-inspired production, they brag about their progress. “Stunt on these hoes with my breakthroughs,” they rap. “We got some issues, we need some tissues.”
Glover didn’t just host and act in a variety of sketches. He also debuted new material, including “This Is America” and “Saturday.”
