French Montana heads to his homeland of Morocco in the video for “Famous,” the latest single off last year’s Jungle Rules.
Directed by Montana and Director X, the scenic visual is a beautiful tour of the rapper’s native country and its culture, with awe-inspiring views. A soccer match kicks off and a dance party breaks out, all while French sings about his lover on the Rico Love-penned single.
“I hope no one discovers you,” he croons over the dance-ready beat. “‘Cause if they knew what I know then I know I wouldn’t stand a chance / There’s no way you would go for a man like me if you had options.”
Last year, Montana said that “Famous” was JAY-Z’s favorite song off Jungle Rules. “JAY-Z hit me yesterday and said ‘Famous’ was his favorite record,” French said (via XXL). “I love him because he hit me with the, ‘I wish that record was mine. And I don’t wish for too much.’ And he ended it off with the laugh.”
Now, the song is Montana’s latest single, which he performed on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” with the help of a live band, belly dancers, and a couple of soccer players. Watch the television debut of “Famous” below.
