Cardi B may be nominated for two Grammys this year, but Lorde says that’s not enough.
The pop songstress, whose Melodrama is up for Album of the Year, heaped praise on the Bronx rapper in her Billboard cover story. “Cardi B should have gotten a nomination in one of those big categories,” she said. “She kind of defined 2017.”
But Cardi isn’t complaining about her two nominations for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” “Two of them !! Thank you Lord. I couldn’t be more grateful,” she said upon learning she was nominated.
Last month, she also spoke about the nominations on “The Tonight Show.” “I already feel like a winner,” she said. “I never thought me. I already won. What’s good?”
Aside from her two nominations, Cardi is set to perform the remix to “Finesse” with Bruno Mars at this year’s show.
Hosted by James Corden, the 60th Annual Grammy Awards is set to air live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
