The record-breaking N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton was infamously snubbed at the Oscars this year, only being nominated for Best Screenplay – which even if hadn’t lost, would have went to their two WHITE writers.
After winning the “True Story” award at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards last night, the cast took a second to throw some light shade toward the Oscars, as Eazy-E actor Jason Mitchell first thanked “The Academy,” then corrected it. Check out the clip below. Congrats to the guys on the much-deserved win!
