The Authorities in Kenya are examining a suspicious package that forced a flight from Mauritius to France to make an emergency landing in Kenya. The Boeing 777 passengers requested that the plane land after the suspicious bomb was found in the toilet.
The airport that the passengers stopped at along with the plane were evacuated for safety. Many passengers are being questioned. The cabinet secretary at Kenya’s ministry of interior, Joseph Nkaissery says that they are working with the French and Mauritian authorities to investigate the crime.
“We are in touch with Mauritius to know how security screening of passengers was done. A few passengers are being interrogated.”
The plane had 459 passengers on board. Benoit Lucchini was one of the passengers on the plane. He said they were told to be calm because there was a technical issue on the plane.
“The plane just went down, slowly, slowly, slowly, so we just realised probably, something was wrong. But the personnel of Air France were just great, just wonderful. So they keep everybody calm and really quiet.”
Thankfully everyone got off safe and no one was injured.
