If this story turns out to be true, it'll make for a great case study in new media, gossip and fragile male egos. Details after the jump!
Page Six reports that Future has been booted from Drake's Would You Like a Tour? following a dispute over some comments recently made to Billboard magazine. Basically, Future told Billboard he's not so fond of Nothing Was the Same thinking he was off the record, Billboard published the comments, and both Future and Drake allegedly freaked out.
While the original comments Future made in to Billboard have been scrubbed from the online edition of the story, reporter Erika Ramirez's tweets from earlier this month are still up: "Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn't grab you," Future allegedly told her. "They're not possessive; they don't make you feel the way I do."
According to Page Six, Future's managers went to Billboard, claiming those comments were off the record and taken out of context. Page Six's source claims that upon hearing those comments, Drake "told his agent either Future gets fired, or he'll fire him." A back-and-forth ensued, ending with Future pulling out of the tour. He's allegedly preparing to sue Drake for lost wages to the tune of $1.5 million.
Drake recently rescheduled a leg of the tour, which now begins on October 18 in Pittsburgh. Pressure's on, Miguel!
