#NFL The First Female NFL Player?? Could Happen This Season

Posted by Unknown on 4:34 PM

It has never happened before. But might we be seeing the first female NFL player ever next season. Lauren Silberman will become the first female ever to take part in the scouting combine. She is going out to be a kicker and rumor has it she is no push over. Reports have her being able to kick at least 45-50 yards on a constant basis, which to be honest would be better than some kickers already in the NFL. It is still a longshot that she will be given a real chance and a real look, but anything is possible. She is far from scared about being on the field with all the big guys. Read more after the jump.

Silberman spoke with NFL.COM, and she said “I was actually hoping that the 2012 historical milestone rule, to allow women to play, would prompt more women to attend tryouts this year. But for me, what’s important is to finally have a chance to fulfill my dreams by trying out to play in the world’s most competitive football league”. She sounds ready and I think it will be cool to see her out there at the combine getting a chance. Her opportunity comes next week.
