Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music are still riding the wave of their Cruel Summer album, but there might be another compilation album coming our way.
When MTV News talked to Q-Tip on the red carpet of the BET Hip-Hop Awards Saturday, Yeezy's right-hand man dropped two words: Cruel Winter. Though the "Vivrant Thing" MC didn't say that there would be aCruel Winter LP outright, all signs seem to point a follow-up to G.O.O.D.'s Cruel Summer compilation.
After struggling to explain why he didn't appear on CS, Tip, who was flanked by his G.O.O.D. cohort Pusha T, just spilled the beans. "I know, I know, I'm sorry about that but I have to let the cat out of the bag. Kanye's probably gonna get...," the former A Tribe Called Quest frontman said before stopping mid-sentence to call over Pusha T to help him with the big news.
"If there's a Cruel Summer then there's got to be a Cruel Winter right?" Q-Tip said, alluding that the G.O.O.D. crew will be following up with another album soon. "That's all I'm saying."
The G.O.O.D. crew, which includes the likes of 'Ye, Q-Tip, Big Sean, Common, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, John Legend and Cyhi the Prynce, released Cruel Summer on September 18. It debuted at #2 on theBillboard albums chart the following week after selling more than 205,000 units. The album featured contributions from 2 Chainz, Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, the-Dream and Ma$e.
