Samsung plans to update 16 devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean!

Posted by Unknown on 11:23 PM

Earlier today, the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S III started rolling out. Soon after that, the Korean company gave The Verge the complete list of devices that it’s planning on upgrading to the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.

There are 16 devices in total, one of which is a mysterious ‘Galaxy Music’. Perhaps that’s a typo and should beGalaxy Player, which is what Samsung calls its iPod touch-like non-phone pocketable Android devices.

Aside from that and the Galaxy S III, the other Samsung-made Android devices to get Jelly Bean are the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Mini 2, Galaxy S Duos, Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and Galaxy Note 10.1. And that’s it.

As for when any of the aforementioned devices will see the latest software bits, that’s anyone’s guess. Samsung sadly didn’t provide an update timeline just yet. So if you own one of the above, you can rest assured that Jelly Bean will at some point make it to your neck of the woods. But you still need to be (very) patient, for that could occur next year for all we know.
