Therealgeorgezimmerman.com was reportedly launched by Zimmerman for his supporters. A letter written by Zimmerman himself is the first thing on the homepage, and it explains how the 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain has been living after the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
The site was built for his supporters to give him money, as he has not been able to work or sustain adequate income.
Zimmerman refers to the shooting death of Trayvon as an “Incident.” The rest of the site is filled with quotes from American heroes such as Thomas Payne, Edmund Burke and James W. Loewen.
Here’s Zimmerman’s letter:
I am the real George Zimmerman,
On Sunday February 26th, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage.
As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life. This website’s sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries.
It has come to my attention that some persons and/or entities have been collecting funds, thinly veiled as my “Defense Fund” or “Legal Fund”.
I cannot attest to the validity of these other websites as I have not received any funds collected, intended to support my family and I through this trying, tragic time.
I have created a Paypal account solely linked on this website as I would like to provide an avenue to thank my supporters personally and ensure that any funds provided are used only for living expenses and legal defense, in lieu of my forced inability to maintain employment.
I will also personally, maintain accountability of all funds received. I reassure you, every donation is appreciated.
Sincerely,
George Zimmerman
Three days ago the Zimmerman family, looking to fund his legal defense and cover their living expenses, said they would be launching the website “zimmermandefense.com,” which hasn’t gone live yet.
17-year-old Trayvon was shot and killed by neighborhood watchman, 28-year-old George Zimmerman. Trayvon was returning from a local 7-Eleven after buying a bag of Skittles and iced tea.
He was then spotted by Zimmerman while returning to his father’s girlfriend’s home inside their gated community. Zimmerman called 911, explaining that Trayvon, who was wearing a hoodie at the time, a pair of blue jeans, and red/white sneakers, looked suspicious.
Zimmerman pursued Trayvon even after he was told not to by the 911 dispatcher.
When Zimmerman approached Trayvon, the two got into a scuffle, resulting in Trayvon taking a bullet to the chest at point blank range.
Zimmerman claimed that he shot Trayvon on grounds of self-defense, although Trayvon was unarmed.
Since the murder of Trayvon, the entire nation has expressed outrage.
George Zimmerman has not been arrested yet as more evidence comes forward proving that his claims of self-defense were false.
