Tampa police say former Tampa Bay Ray Elijah Dukes was arrested early Thursday morning for possession of marijuana.
And according to an arrest report, the 27-year-old tried to eat a small baggie of pot during the traffic stop.
Police say Dukes was pulled over in his 2011 Chevrolet Camaro at Nebraska Avenue and Sligh Avenue around 1 a.m.
Officers say they observed marijuana flakes on his shirt, and they saw him trying to eat the bag of marijuana.
Police say they were able to retrieve the baggie, and they placed Dukes under arrest.
He has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a canceled or suspended license and destroying evidence.
At last check, he was being held on $4,750 bail at the Hillsborough County Jail.
