Nick Cannon has updated fans on his situation. He tweeted last night:
"Currently being transfered to a hospital in LA. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern. You know me... I will be a'ight"
Nick was hospitalized in Aspen, where he and wife Marey Carey were spending the holidays with their twins, Roc and Roe. Carey posted an note on her website, saying he was suffering "mild kidney failure."
Friends and fans have been tweeting well-wishes to theAmerica's Got Talent host, including judge Howie Mandell, who wrote: "Get well soon buddy"
Russell Simmons tweeted: "praying for my man Nick Cannon and Mariah."
And Sharon Osbourne said on yesterday's The Talk: "He is such a naughty, gorgeous boy. He's going to be fine. He's young and strong."
Dr. Bryan Becker, the past immediate president of the National Kidney Foundation, tells People that "mild kidney failure" is likely caused by "an illness of some sort or taking an over-the-counter medication like Motrin or Advil. It could also be due to dehydration." He says pneumonia or stomach problems that decrease fluid could be the culprit.
No matter what, the prognosis is usually good, says Becker. If it's fluid-related, he'll recover "very quickly." And if it's related to medication or an illness it'll take a little longer.
