Within the next couple of months J.R. Smith will be able to return to the U.S after signing a deal in China during the NBA lockout. The rumor is the New York Knicks are very interested in acquiring the young guard. Read more after the jump.
The acquisition of J.R. Smith could be both a good and bad thing for the Knicks. Smith adds toughness, defense and an additional shooter especially from behind the arc. The problem with Smith is his shots can become extremely erratic, his hot temper and from what I remember he and Carmelo Anthony didn’t always see eye to eye when they were both on the Nuggets. Smith however seems to show interest in joining the Knicks when he tweeted this:
I’m not sure where the money is going to come from to add him to the team but we’ll see what happens.
