Family Shot Execution-Style By Unknown Gunman

A husband and wife were shot execution-style by a gunman after he broke into their house and shot their son before shooting them in the head. Shane, who was shot in the shoulder, staggered upstairs before making a 911 call telling the dispatcher: ‘My parents are dead. My family was shot, my parents were killed’, according to the New York Daily News. He is in stable condition at hospital. Shortly after the shooting his brother Shawn was weeping outside the house in the working-class neighbourhood as friends comforted him. The motive for the cold-blooded murders remains unknown, police said. Shane Jaggarnauth’s black Toyota Rav 4 was missing from the Queens home. A family friend Melissa McGregor, told the Daily News: ‘Everybody here knows the family. It doesn’t make sense. They just came through and murdered the whole family. Neighbour Harrison Williams said: ‘This block and this neighbourhood is very quiet. We haven’t had any gunfire here in about 30 years. ‘So it’s a shock to everybody on the block especially when it’s quiet, unassuming people, they mind their own business. As far as I’m concerned, this kind of intervention could have never happened,’ he told NY1. Investigators did not reveal whether anything beyond the Toyota was missing. The murdered couple’s sons, who both work at a nearby physical therapy facility, were cooperating with detectives – though no one has been eliminated as a suspect at this time, a police source said. Mrs McGregor insisted that neither the dead couple nor their sons had any enemies. ‘It makes no sense,’ she said. ‘They were just really sweet people. They were good people who work.’ Rosie would have celebrated her 57th birthday this weekend.
