Cops Get Mandatory Counseling In Louisiana For Child Decapitation

Posted by Unknown on 7:47 AM

Louisiana police dealing with the discovery of a decapitated child have gotten mandatory trauma counseling on their chief’s orders.

Chief Scott Silverii called in counselors for all staff who dealt with the death last month of 7-year-old Jori Lirette in the city of Thibodaux (TIB’-uh-doh). The disabled boy was found dismembered at home and his head was by the side of the road. His father, Jeremiah Wright, is charged with first-degree murder.

Silverii told The Daily Comet (http://bit.ly/nKLdvY) that a counseling session was held the day after Jori’s funeral. Any employee who had anything to do with the case, from dispatchers to detectives, was required to attend.
The chief said police have a professional attitude for dealing with crimes but that “no matter how well you’re trained, you’re still human.”
